Adding fields and field labels to layouts

ACT! Premium Web 2005 Server

Adding fields and field labels to layouts

You can add a field and field label to any part of a layout, including most tabs, as long as there is enough space.

You can add an existing field to a layout, or you can create a new one to add. You create a field through the Define Fields feature in ACT! Premium for Web Server. For more information about creating fields, see Creating a field.

To add a field to a layout

  1. Open a layout in the Layout Designer window.

  2. From the Toolbox, in the Field tools list, click Field.

To add a Memo, Picture, YesNo, Record Manager, or Access field, select the appropriate tool from the Toolbox.

  1. Position the cross-hair pointer where you want to insert a field, and then drag it to define the field's size.

  2. In the Select Field dialog box, select the field that you want to add. For field definitions, press F1.

You cannot add the same field more than once in a layout.

  1. The Include a Label check box is selected by default. If you do not want to use a field label, clear the check box.

  2. Click Add.
