Filtered Gaussian White Noise (System Identification Toolkit)
Filtered Gaussian white noise is a simple signal that can generate virtually any signal spectra in conjunction with the proper linear filtering. The theoretical crest factor Cf for a Gaussian is infinite, but clipping the Gaussian amplitude to the input signal limit reduces the crest factor. Doing so minimally affects the generated spectrum.
